Estimation of Pressuremeter Modulus and Limit Pressure in Weathered Granite Based on the SPT-N Value and Chemical Weathering Index: A Case Study in South Korea

A pressuremeter test (PMT) is a representative and highly reliable in situ for assessing the stress–strain behavior of weathered granite. Its application, however, restricted by its cost time requirements. Many researchers have also investigated correlations between SPT-N value modulus (Em) limit pressure (PL) soils, but they mostly focused on sand, silt, clay employed simple regression analysis. In this study, equations Em PL were derived granite through multiple nonlinear analyses using chemical weathering index that quantitatively represents degree weathering. Nonlinear conducted combining allometric models produced optimal Em, PL, energy corrected (SPT-N60), normalized VR (Vogt’ ratio) with vertical effective stress. The obtained had higher R2 values (0.76 0.46, respectively) compared reported previous studies.
